With a 4 year old son and a husband who is always on the go for work, the chore of laundry in my household is all mine. I don't have a very large laundry room (it's actually just a large closet) but while I am spending time in there, why not have something cute to look at that can also be functional?
A few months ago, I created this canvas with Paper Trunk's Socialite Line for a challenge at For the Luv of Art. I wanted to hang it in my laundry room to brighten it up a little but it was still missing something to me.
My husband's uniform is usually stuffed full of items that I know he will need the next day yet I do not want them going through my wash. If you have ever seen a set of ACU's up close, you know there is about a 100 different pockets where little "treasures" can be hidden. He also leaves a lot earlier in the morning than my son and I so he was constantly waking me up to ask me where I had put something.
Jarred away + 10 questions in a rush + lack of sleep = grumpy wife & Mommy.
Enter my "Wash Buddy".
Now he can snag his papers, patches, pens, and pop money (all the spare change he keeps in his pockets) right from the wall of the laundry room! And its cute! Here are a few close-ups of both projects:

I hope this has inspired you to create something beautiful, yet useful for your home! Paper Trunk's lines are so versatile and can brighten up ANY room of your home!!
Such a useful piece created from using a frame, a piece of sheet metal, some Velcro and a few magnets; all found at my local hobby store.
