2 Different Pictures
3 Different Layouts
Today's post is sort of a challenge. It was for me anyway. I had Carrie, the owner of Paper Trunk, design a sketch for me.
This is it below...
My objective was to use different pictures for each layout, along with different paper lines all based on this one particular sketch. I don't know about you, but for me as a scrapbooker, I never think of using the same sketch twice and to try and use it differently. Make any sense? Am I losing you yet? Just hang in there and I'll get to my point *wink, wink*
So what I did was I had Carrie design a sketch that I could base my three layouts from.
#1 this would challenge me to use the same sketch three times and
#2 It would push me to go beyond my scrapping style and try something different!
So here's what I came up with...
My first layout is entitled "Triplet Bump"
What I did with this layout ,is use a more modern art approach
to the layout. And well to be honest, looking at my stomach
there was way too much going on already, so I wanted
to keep it as "minimal" as possible. Know what I mean?

This next one is entitled "Sister Sister". Pictures of
my identical girls cuddled up together when they were in the
NICU at the top left and then cuddled in my moms arms
about a month later there at the bottom right.
(I love these memories)
Here I pretty much kept to the sketch.
But to give a whimsy feel, I dolled up the paper
with some bling, and you can't really
tell but I also put some glitter along the rainbows too.

Last but not least, this layout is entitled "First Easter 2010".
Pictures of my Kai on Easter.
I took a more festive/carnival approach to this one.
I love the "Boogie Down" paper from 1974 and
using things like the banner, scalloped paper strips
and circle cutouts to the left really helped me
achieve the look I was going for.

Well I hope you were encouraged from this post to go out and change up your style a little. :)
Hey if you do create a layout based on Carrie's sketch, let us know. Either upload it on Paper Trunk's fan page on Facebook or place the link here in this post's comment section. We all would love to see it.
Happy Friday everyone and have a blessed weekend!
