Happy Birthday, Rock Star!

Today is my husband's 37th birthday. The big, strong Army guy does not like to celebrate his birthday, but my son and I just HAVE to do something special for him.

We sent him off on a kayaking trip today while we stay at home decorating the house to surprise him! The theme; Happy Birthday, Rock Star!

And he is; Our Rock Star! We are making cupcakes, decorating with streamers, and doing all sorts of fun stuff for him. The above picture has been my inspiration and I cannot wait to share the final results with all of you! I am creating some "yummy" goodies with the Rockabilly line that I will share in another post later this month.

Our son loves anything to do with "rock stars" right now. I am not sure he really understands what a rock star is, but to him, it's jamming out on Rock Band with his dad or wearing a cool t-shirt. For instance:

I created this layout with the new "Rockabilly" line and LOVE how it turned out. Especially the little chipboard guitar! I coated it in embossing ink and black embossing powder and turned on the heat! A couple of coats later, it was this awesome shiny black that worked perfectly with the colors in the line!
Going back to "yummy", I also created an oooey, gooey cupcake layout featuring the "Jellybean" line.

We found the coolest spot for cupcakes right in our own backyard! Makes you want a cupcake, doesn't it?

Well that is all for me today! I need to get back to decorating downstairs before my child eats all of the icing off of the cupcakes (which he has been known to do!).

Have a great week!
