Today, I am going to show you how to make a "Penny Daisy".
Here are the materials you will need:
- 4"x4" square cardstock/paper
- penny
- glue or Glue Dot
- scissors
- rubber band (preferably a tiny hair rubberband. It won't matter what color because it will not show in the finished product)
Let's get started!
Step 1.
You will need your square cardstock. I am suggesting a 4"x4" but, you can use any size as long as it's a square.

Step 2.
Fold the square on a diagonal. Corner to corner. Now you should have a triangle.
Step 3.
Fold the triangle in half.
Step 4.You can fold in half again if you started with a larger square. Pick up the triangle and cut off the top corner in a rainbow-ish shape.
Step 5.
Open up your flower and determine which side (if you have a double-sided paper) you want to be the front and flip it over. I chose to scrunch my paper for a more distressed look and this makes the paper a little easier to work with. you can also ink it up too!
Step 6.
Glue your penny into the center of the flower shape (glue or Glue Dot). Wait until glue is mostly dry before proceeding.
Step 7.
Take edges of the flower shape and fold upward. Kinda like you are wrapping the penny as a present! Then tie the rubberband around the top of the penny (see below)
This creates the center of your flower! We're almost done...
Step 8.Begin gently pulling the edges of the paper outward to shape your flower.
Step 9.
You should have a cute little embellishment ready for use! I have made this flower many times and have decorated the middle of the flower with bling, buttons, and silk flowers. This particular flower I used on a thank you card.
