Sometimes things just don't go as planned

I had such high hopes for this page. I couldn't wait to scrap my oldest son's new found love of Cub Scouts. He is seriously crazy about it and I think it is such a wonderful program to be involved with. But then, as it sometimes goes (and please tell me you can relate...)

Mojo. Gone.

Can someone please find it and give it back to me?

So I thought I would just go for it and start gluing down and painting and having some fun. And here is the result of that.

I thought maybe I would glop some yellow paint onto the chipboard to bring out the yellow in the Wrangler paper and in his uniform. Only my yellow paint? It turned out to be gold. Like bright, crazy gold. I did like the texture the gloppy paint job added, though. I just squirted it directly onto the chipboard and used my finger to kind of smush it around. That part was fun. Messy is always fun! (I'm like a little kid. Who else loved glitter as a kid? I sure did!)

Ah, well. I'm just going with it. The Magistical Memories chipboard was great to work with, even if I did botch it with some slightly obnoxious paint.

I was having to remind myself that even though this isn't my favorite page ever, I'm still so thankful that I printed that cutie pie picture of my boy and that we will all have this to look back on as he grows.

On a completely unrelated note, who is keeping up with the words for the game? Prizes, people! We have prizes! The word for today is:

That's a tricky one, isn't it. :)

Hope everyone is having an amazing start to fall!

  1. great page, Megan! I know EXACTLY how you feel though. I make pages all the time that I look at and think what did I do? LOL

  2. I think your layout turned out great - but I can relate when you feel like you've temporarily lost your mojo.
