Valentine's Card

First of all, I have to admit two things. First, I don't love Valentine's Day. I think every day should be a day to tell the people we love that we love them! I don't like how flower prices go up, and the crowds at a restaurant ruin all the fun of going out to eat. That being said, it is a nice reminder to do something sweet or romantic for my loved ones, so I do typically make a card for my husband. (or buy one...that's confession number two...I rarely make cards and usually just buy them!) It's a good way to remind him of all the things I love about him and all the reasons why I still think he is the greatest man in the world even after 10 years of marriage.

Are you thinking it might be too late to make your loved one a card? Think again! This card can be made in less than 10 minutes.

First, I cut a piece of the Krafty paper 6 inches by 8 inches in order to make the finished card be 6" by 4". Then, I cut a solid pink piece from the Maybe Baby line approximately 6" by 2.5". I stamped the word "love" repeatedly using my Versamark ink. I covered two chipboard hears with paper from Maybe Baby, and hand cut the heart frame. Finally, I drew a pen border, just to make it pop a little bit. I could have added more and dressed it up, but I decided to keep this card pretty bare bones. It's quick, simple, and so easy to make!

I would encourage all you other non-Valentine's Day people (like me!) to make a little something. People always need to hear that they are loved and appreciated, and even though I totally believe that Valentine's Day is a "Hallmark holiday", it never hurts to tell someone you love them!

  1. Cute card Meg. I do have to admit that I myself sometimes buy my hubby a card rather than make one. So thanks for the cute card idea. Love it.
